Enforcement action will be taken to resolve a long-running row over a footpath outside two Swaffham homes if the work is not completed within the next two months.
Earlier this year, community leaders pleaded for a resolution to the dispute about the planned path outside two bungalows on North Pickenham Road to be found.
Now, town councillors have been told that the company which built the properties, Walnut Farm Developments, has been given a deadline of June 12 to complete the pavement.
The company has claimed it should not be liable for the estimated £24,000 cost of the footpath, which it claims are more than double what was originally forecast when planning permission was first granted in 2007.
But roads chiefs maintain it is the developers’ responsibility to adhere to the conditions of their planning consent.
The pavement was a condition of the planning permission.
