Deafening crowds cheer for Festival Too headliner Pixie Lott

Thousands packed into Tuesday Market Place to watch singer-songwriter Pixie Lott headline Festival Too.

Spirits were high following England's win against Sweden in the semi-finals of the World Cup just hours earlier.

Friday began with Springwood High School Big Band taking to the stage with renditions of songs from yesteryear.

And fresh from the success of last year’s appearance on Pitch Battle, the Leeds Contemporary Singers were up next.

Following on, was soul legends Geno Washington and the Ram Jam Band.

Finally, it was down to the Edwin Starr Band featuring the late artist’s younger brother Angelo Starr on vocals, to bring the night to a close.

Saturday kicked off with a performance from the West Norfolk Academy Trust, a band formed from students of the trust.

Runners up in this year’s Battle of the Bands competition The Visitors, claimed the stage as their own and proceeded to rock the socks off the crowd gathered in the square right out of the gate.

KLFM’s Posh Charles and Ben Norris kept the crowd in fine voice too, leading them in a rendition of The Lightning Seeds’ Three Lions in honour of the football result.

By the time Pixie Lott took to the stage, the crowd were already whipped up into a frenzy, but the roar that greeted her was almost deafening.
