A charity will be holding an open day in Lynn next month in a bid to help people with dementia to live as full a life as possible, despite the condition.
The event will be held at Thoresby College in Queen Street, opposite the town hall, on Friday, May 20, between 11am and 2pm.
The session has been organised to coincide with Dementia Awareness Week, which runs from May 15 to 21.
And Andy Peacock, a dementia support worker for the Alzheimers Society in Lynn, said: “By openly talking about dementia we hope to tackle the many myths and misunderstandings about the condition and get across that life doesn’t end when dementia begins.
“The sooner you face up to dementia by coming to us for information and support, the sooner you can get the right treatment, support and advice to tackle it.”
Further information and support can be obtained by phoning the charity’s National Dementia Helpline on 0300 2221122 or visiting www. alzheimers.org.uk/DAW.
