Denver bar is best in county




A village pub near Downham has been named as the best in Norfolk for cider.

The Blackstone Engine Bar in Denver has been named as the county CAMRA group’s cider pub of the year and received the award at a ceremony in the venue.

CAMRA regional director Andrea Briers said: “This year’s competition included some very different styles of pub who all deserved their place.

“The judges were impressed, not only by the quality of the cider and perry at the Blackstone Engine Bar in Denver but also the knowledgeable and helpful staff.

“Well done to the team at the Blackstone Engine Bar on their success.”

Bar owner John Nash said he was delighted to be recognised by CAMRA , an organisation with a national and international reputation.

He said the group had been a great support to businesses such as his. He also paid tribute to Andy Stonach, bar manager, for his energy and enthusiasm.
