Dersingham hotel's help for hospice cause

LEARN MOREA West Norfolk hotel hopes a new charity fun day held in its grounds at the weekend will prove to be the first of many.
The Feathers Hotel in Dersingham hosted the fundraiser, which offered attractions including a bouncy castle, food and a raffle, in aid of the East Anglian Children’s Hospice (EACH) on Saturday.
And, even though the dodgy summer weather may have put a dampener on the attendance, officials are already looking ahead to staging a similar event for the cause again next summer.
Hotel manager John Higginson said: “The people who did turn up were very happy.
“We love doing this sort of event. Hopefully it will be the first of many and we’ll build on that.”
The Manor Road hotel already has a firm association with the charity through the sale of its sweets, which are produced by Snak Appeal, as well as other well-known causes, such as the Norfolk Hospice Tapping House.
Mr Higginson said: “They’re very worthy causes, they’re local and seen in the community and they need as much help as they can get.
“I think people in Norfolk are pretty generous really and we need to keep that going in the same direction.”
