Dersingham man alleges gamekeeper attacked him in row over blocked road near Sandringham estate




A man from Dersingham has claimed he was attacked by a gamekeeper near the Sandringham estate last week.

National newspapers have reported the claims by Patrick Panks, 43, that he was hit on the head with a stick and called a "peasant" by a gamekeeper after a dispute over a blocked road.

Mr Panks is reported to have told The Sun, in an interview which made the paper's front page today, he felt it was "disgusting snobbery".

Police have confirmed they were called to the incident and have spoken to both parties, but neither has made a formal complaint at this stage.

A Norfolk Police spokeswoman said: "Police were called around 3pm on Saturday 19 January 2019 to reports of an incident in Shernborne Road in Dersingham involving two men.

"A crime report has been created and officers have spoken to both parties; however neither has made a formal complaint at this stage.”
