Tributes have been paid to a retiring vicar as he stepped down from his pulpit for the final time.

The Rev Michael Brock officiated in his final service at the St Nicholas Church in Dersingham on Sunday before moving into semi-retirement in Nottinghamshire.

Presentations, including a certificate of thanks from Gallipoli and Dardinelles International in recognition of his hosting of the annual Gallipoli memorial service at the church over the past three years, were made at the service.

Church members also held a collection to buy a wooden sculpture of a bird to remind him of his nine and a half years in the village.

Pictured with Rev Brock and his wife Carolyn, centre, are, from left, church curate Rev Julie Boyd, lay reader and church warden Neil Adams and the Revd Canon Jonathan Riviere, the area’s rural dean for the Diocese of Norwich.
