An investigation has been launched after a burglary on a house in Lynn and an attempted raid on a second address on the same evening.

Police say raiders forced open a back door to gain access to the property in Chase Avenue, sometime between 7 and 9pm on Tuesday.

A quantity of cash and jewellery were stolen from inside the building.

And officers believe that raid may be connected to an attempted burglary at a property in Sidney Street, which also happened on Tuesday night.

They say the property was targeted sometime between 8.30pm and 9pm, when raiders tried to break in through a back window and door.

However, no entry was gained and no property was taken.

Anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area, or who has information about the two incidents, is asked to contact Det Con Marie Lloyd, of Lynn CID, via the non-emergency 101 number.
