Volunteers are being sought to support people attending court or provide fundraising and administration services to the team that does.

The Witness Service is particularly looking for female volunteers willing to undertake courses to support victims of domestic and sexual violence.

Volunteers who want to provide emotional and practical support to other witnesses and victims of crime at court would also be welcome. Training is provided and expenses paid.

In addition the service, which is part of the charity Victim Support, is keen to hear from people who would be interested in undertaking a fundraising or administration volunteer role, even if they can only offer a couple of hours a week.

For the support roles, no experience is necessary. Volunteers need to be prepared to undergo a background check. Inquires should be to the service delivery manager Helen on 01553 777083.
