West Norfolk publication after donations for its Pet Food Bank at Hunstanton




The owner of a doggy news website and publication in West Norfolk is asking for supporters to donate pet food to their Pet Food Bank at Hunstanton.

The Barking Bugle, in are working in conjunction with Lily’s Pet Supplies in the town, has put out an appeal for all pet food after growing calls from pet-owners who are struggling to keep their animals fed.

Founder Amanda Knight said: “With animal charity shops closed and funding events cancelled food is needed for all of Norfolk’s rescue centres.

“Food is also distributed to local residents who may be struggling to feed their pets. We know there are people struggling and who have got financial difficulties because of the pandemic.

“We’ve already delivered some of the supplies to Norfolk residents and the homeless.”

The Barking Bugle’s Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Zsa Zsa is also the face of the Hunstanton Pet Food Bank, which is situated at Lily’s Pet Supplies where the food can be left.

Meanwhile, the publication has been named as a finalist in two categories of the Animal Star Awards for 2021.

Amanda said: “We are absolutely thrilled that Miss Zsa Zsa, has made the finals for the Rescue Animal of the year. She is an ex-puppy farm breeding dog who now helps to raise awareness of this terrible trade. “

The Barking Bugle have also been nominated in the Best Pet Blogger/Blog category, where you can find all the latest Norfolk doggy news and information.

The awards gives recognition to animals and humans alike for the extraordinary things they do. Judges of the awards are leaders in their field and this year include the CEO of The Badger Trust and animal Campaigner, Dominic Dyer.

Winners will be announced at the Animal Star Awards Online Virtual Event on Sunday, March 28.
