Downham business named as a finalist at the SME National Business Awards 2020
A Downham-based business has been named as a finalist at the SME National Business Awards 2020.
The CGM Group are chasing success in the Business Chameleon category.
The awards celebrate excellence in a number of national categories, the Business Chameleon award recognising proactive businesses that have made significant business changes throughout 2020, particularly in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Award judges have focused on CGM’s Eco Live management system.
Throughout 2020, CGM has been working with Overtec and their GeoPal software to implement a new field operations management system called Eco Live.
This has a number of exciting features which will provide significant benefits for its customers and also improve many internal working practices at CGM.
Marcus Glover, operations director at CGM, said: “A lot of planning has gone into Eco Live and we’re very grateful for the support of Dave Thomas, Dave Armstrong and Chris Armstrong from Overtec throughout 2020 and as we work through a complete launch plan in 2021.
“To also see this work recognised by the SME National Business Awards is particularly rewarding. We are always striving to improve our customer experience and to also improve internal processes.
"Here we have been able provide live, accurate business information whilst also reducing paper printing, which is reflected in our carbon reduction plans.”
Dave Armstrong, joint managing director at Overtec added: “The team at Overtec have worked with CGM for several years now and they have always ensured that the business leads the industry rather than follows it by embracing the very latest technology.
“During the unique circumstances that Covid-19 brought to the world they have not only made sure that CGM met the challenges of 2020 but also ensured that CGM were ready to steal a march on the industry in 2021 and beyond by heavily investing in state-of-the-art technology and processes.”
