West Norfolk’s Oliver Clarke has competed in the first round of the British Karting Championship Super One and is delighted with his first set of results.
This round took place in Rowrah, Cumbria, with three days of practice heats, timed qualifying and finals and Oliver finished second in the final and now starts his championship points at second in the table, just two behind the leader. Recording the fastest lap in the final and being beaten to the line by only 0.01 of a second, Clarke is looking ahead to the next round in Wales later in May.
He said: “I am really pleased with my form and the way the races went. It was so close between us at the chequered flag and I am keen to get to round two.”
Clarke, who lives near Downham and is a pupil at Iceni Academy Methwold, is TVKC winter champion and races in the Honda cadet class. He would like to thank his parents Jeremy and Claire, his racing team BRK and his school for their support.
