Volunteers and businesses across Downham will be making sure the town looks its best ahead of the Anglia in Bloom judging.
Downham in Bloom is hoping to better the Silver Gilt medal it received in last year’s Anglia in Bloom awards.
People across the town are doing their best to litter pick along with creating stunning floral displays ahead of the judging on Monday, July 13.
Staff and friends from Downham Station will also be supporting the efforts by sprucing up the station on Thursday, June 30.
Train firm Great Northern will be spending £500 to give the station a blooming marvellous appearance.
A series of hanging baskets will be decorating the station.
Staff will be joined by Downham In Bloom members, along with Fenline Users Group to litter pick around the station, in Railway Road.
Two gardens will be replanted during the day.
Roger Perkins, spokesman for Great Northern, said the station team was happy to help.
He said: “We want to spruce up the station and to give Downham the best fighting chance it can to win this contest. We also want to help and give our passengers a nice station.”
In Bloom group will be running a big clear-up in the town on Sunday, July 12.
Member Pam Sharp said: “I’m thrilled the station is coming on board.”
