Racing fans will have the chance to hop in the driver’s seat for a good cause at this Sunday in an event supported by a Downham man.
Last year’s Passenger Ride Experience and Motor Show at Snetterton racetrack helped raise over £20,000 for local charities, and this year the event is fundraising for the Big C, East Anglian Air Ambulance, British Heart Foundation, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and NARS.
Graham Adderson, who takes his own vehicle along for riders to enjoy on the day, said: “It’s all good fun. If we have good weather on the day there should be a lot of people there.
“We’ve got a lot of supercars to take people out in, mine is an MG X Power V, but we’ve got Lambo’s and Ferraris, then at the other end of the scale we’ve also got some classic cars.”
Supporters will be able to take to the track in a array of vehicles ranging from race cars to supercars in exchange for a donation to charity.
Graham, who used to test cars for Lotus and has a passion for cars, said: “We’re just here to give people a bit of a thrill, and the money you pay goes to these local charities which are all excellent causes.”
From £20, passengers can enjoy six thrilling miles of racetrack experience around Snetterton race circuit, choosing from an impressive line up of classic cars, performance cars, racing cars, supercars and even almighty trucks.
Entry is a £10 donation per vehicle and the gates are open from 8am to 4pm. Height restrictions apply to passengers.
The team organising the event said: “As always we need your help to make this event as successful as possible, so why not signup to be a driver or volunteer and make this a fantastic day for all the family?”
