A Downham artist is gearing up for his first exhibition later this year.
Kelly Boldero, 58, suffers from ongoing health problems but is refusing to let this hold him back from staging an exhibition of his paintings during August and September.
Mr Boldero has mobility problems after fracturing his back in 2007 after a chair collapsed at work.
His bones are now fusing and he has recently suffered a slight stroke and has rheumatoid arthritis.
Mr Boldero is trying to put his life back together and is looking forward to staging the exhibition in St Mary’s Church, Bexwell, over two weekends in August and September.
Mr Boldero said: “Friends have been telling me to promote my art so I have arranged an exhibition in St Mary’s Church.
“I have put together 40 pictures but there will probably be more by the time of the exhibition.”
Mr Boldero has been interested in art since school and uses mixed media in his pieces.
He produces a variety of pictures ranging from animals to landscapes.
Mr Boldero said: “I do a lot of water colour but it is different to everyone else.
“I use mixed media and incorporate pastels. It’s all free hand work as well.
“I really enjoy the art.
“I would like to encourage people to come along to the exhibition.”
The exhibition will be held in the church over Saturday and Sunday, August 1 and 2.
It will be then held on Saturday and Sunday, September 26 and 27.
