Downham’s Wings Day raises £3,695

Have your say

The Downham Market Branch of the Royal Air Forces Association has raised a total of £3,695.19 for the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain Wings Appeal.

As part of Wings Week, a Memorial parade was staged in Downham to pay tribute to those who gave their lives in the air conflict of World War II.

Wings Week nationally aims to raise some £2 million. Downham RAFA said it would like to thank all those who gave so generously.

The amount raised will go towards providing welfare assistance and advice to both former and serving members of the Royal Air Force.

If there is anyone who feels that they need welfare advice, please contact the Branch Welfare Officer, Peter Kingston, on 01553 840513.
