Generous people in Downham have helped to raise £1,700 to help the victims of the earthquake in Nepal.
Downham Rotary Club has organised street collections in the town over the May Day Bank Holiday.
Staff at Barclays Bank also allowed members to hold a collection and a club spokesman thanked residents for their support.
He said: “Contributions also came from the Rotary’s corporate friends and a number of private donors.
“The total collection of £1,700 has enabled Downham Rotary to send three shelter boxes to Nepal containing family size tents, stoves, cooking utensils etc.
“In addition, at the suggestion of the International Committee, Downham has also met the cost of supplying four Aqua Boxes with supplies of clean drinking water.”
