Drink-driver had been kicked out of house after row with girlfriend

A driver who was stopped in Leziate for a routine document check was found to be more than twice the alcohol limit.

It was about 1.20pm on August 3 when Simonas Puzas was pulled over by police in Brow Of The Hill.

He provided a positive breath test and was arrested, later blowing 85 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.

Appearing before Lynn Magistrates' Court on Thursday, Puzas, who had no previous convictions, pleaded guilty to drink-driving.

In mitigation, the defendant said he'd gone for a drive after his girlfriend kicked him out of the house following an argument.

Puzas, of Harry's Way, Wisbech, was disqualified from driving for 20 months, which can be cut with successful completion of a drink-drive rehabilitation course.

He also fined £250 and ordered to pay £105 costs and £34 victim surcharge.
