Swaffham man Alix Cooke back in court after police search home and find cannabis and amphetamine

A repeat drug offender was back in court after police found cannabis and amphetamine in his home.

Alix Cooke, 43, of London Street in Swaffham, appeared at Lynn Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, where he admitted having two different Class B drugs in his possession.

Prosecutor Asif Akram told the court that on January 15, police had reason to visit Cooke’s home and search the property.

They discovered that Cooke had 9.14g of cannabis and 1.84g of amphetamine.

Cooke made full admissions when he was arrested and taken to Lynn’s Police Investigation Centre.

He was in court last year for similar offences.

Mitigating, Alison Muir told the court that Cooke is “amphetamine dependant” and is “routinely being stopped by the police”.

“His previous convictions are all related to his drug use,” she said.

“He has been down the route of getting help with CGL, but no progress has been made.”

Cooke was fined £150 and ordered to pay a £60 victim surcharge and court costs of £40.
