Drunk man damaged cars in early morning King's Lynn disturbance, court told
A member of the public took control of the situation when a drunken man started damaging cars in Lynn.
The witness, who had been woken by the 6am commotion, pinned Deivydas Pamparas to the ground in Morston Drift until police arrived.
Robyn Khan, prosecuting at Lynn Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, said Pamparas had been arguing with another man and adopting a “boxing-like stance”.
He then punched through the rear windscreen of a Mini and knocked the wing mirror off a Fiat Punto.
“The witness ran outside and asked him what he was doing,” said Miss Khan. “He took the male to the ground. He could see there was blood all over his right hand.”
Pamparas was arrested but continued to shout and swear. In a custody cell he drew an explicit image on the wall using his blood. He later said he had been annoyed because he hadn’t been given a plaster.
Cost of damage to the Mini was £560, to the Punto £25 and a deep clean of the cell was £200.
The 23-year-old, of Seabank Road, Wisbech, pleaded guilty to three counts of criminal damage and being drunk and disorderly in public.
In mitigation, solicitor Tim Bartlam said Pamparas had never been in trouble before and the defendant couldn’t understand why he had done it.
Pamparas was ordered to pay £785 compensation and £85 costs. There was no separate penalty for the drunk and disorderly offence.
