Early hours fire alert in village

Dozens of firefighters were called to tackle a blaze in a village close to the West Norfolk border during the early hours of this morning.

A building fire was reported in Brecklands, Mundford, shortly after 1am today.

At the height of the incident, five units, including crews from Methwold and Swaffham, were despatched to the scene.

The Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service said a water carrier and a specialist aerial ladder platform were also sent to the area.

Earlier in the night, Lynn crews were called to tackle a blaze on open ground in Woodwark Avenue, North Lynn.

The incident was recorded shortly before 7.30pm last night.
