Swaffham Rotary Club raises funds for three charities

Following a year-and-a-half of lockdown and meeting online, Swaffham Rotary Club has still managed to support important charities both locally and internationally.

The club handed over a £500 cheque to the East Anglian Air Ambulance, and donated £500 to the End Polio Now campaign.

The group have also continued its long-term support for the Lend with Care project helping start-up businesses across the world.

Secretary Denis Bishop said:"Under the circumstances it is a good effort as we haven't been able to do our normal fundraising.

"We have had small local events such as raffles and the money raised has come from a number of those. We have continued to support Lend With Care where we fund small individual businesses in developing countries who need a little help such as sewing and agriculture."

Future events are planned later this year including a 25th Annual Art Exhibition on October, 29, 30, 31.
