Downham Academy has achieved similar results to last year with 48 per cent achieving A* to C in English and Maths.
The figures released come under the new performance indicator, replacing the “gold standard” of five A* to C grades including English and Maths.
Principal Jon Ford said: “Downham Academy are pleased to congratulate all their students on their GCSE results.
“We are pleased that we have improved the percentage of grades at A* and A significantly. “With English and Maths outcomes the same as last year we are also confident that this year’s student progress figures will show a significant improvement.
“These results represent incredibly hard work on the part of both the staff and the students. We look forward to the new academic year with renewed vigour for the challenges ahead.”
David Pomfret, Chief Executive of CWA Academy Trust, said: “All of our academies have either matched or improved on their results from last year, and all have secured stronger rates of progress than in 2015 which is fantastic news.
This reflects the hard work and dedication made by all staff and students involved over the last academic year.
“Well done to all of our CWA Academy Trust students who have received their GCSE results today.
“I wish each and every student the very best of luck with their new ventures.”
