Work is underway at Lynnsport to tally the results in West Norfolk’s two Parliamentary constituencies: North West and South West Norfolk.
Verification of the votes began shortly after midnight and counting itself is expected to begin shortly.
However, officials now expect the results to be declared at around 6am. Results in the West Norfolk Council elections will be announced on Friday afternoon.
Conservative sources have said they are “very pleased” with their sampling of the votes, although Green candidate Michael de Whalley said he expected the Tories’ majority to be reduced.
UKIP activists say they believe they have performed well, while Labour supporters also reported positive reactions during polling day.
Our video shows Hugh Lanham, the Liberal Democrats’ candidate for the North West Norfolk seat, reflecting on exit polls that suggest his party has suffered very heavy losses.
