Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue give update at Port Sutton Bridge blaze

Fire services are still at the scene of a major blaze at Port Sutton Bridge.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue were called just before 3pm yesterday (Tuesday) to reports of scrap on fire near the port

An update issued by the fire services earlier today said: “Incident at Sutton Bridge Port is still ongoing. Currently two appliances, one aerial ladder platform and a high volume pump remain in attendance dealing with this.”

An Environment Agency Spokesperson said last night: “We are aware of a scrap metal waste fire that is burning on a regulated site near Port Sutton Bridge, Lincolnshire.

“Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance and have been drawing water from the River Nene to tackle the blaze.
