Enthusiasts don pink items for Ryston Land Rover Run
Motor enthusiasts donned “items of pink” as part of the annual Ryston Land Rover Run.
This year’s run, which was held on the grounds of Ryston Hall on Sunday, was raising money for St Michael’s Church in Ryston and Cancer Research UK.
Organiser Philip Shipp said the event usually has a theme, and so this year attendees were asked to wear an item of pink in honour of the chosen charity.
He said: “It was absolutely brilliant, just fantastic. We had 62 vehicles in all makes and shapes of Land Rover, and we raised £700 in total.
“Our total will be split equally between our two charities which are St Michael’s Church in Ryston and Cancer Research UK.
“I would like to give a special thanks to my wife Jo and step-daughter Beth, as well as Bill and Tracey Stevens who helped to put all this together. Without the people, the run wouldn’t be a success.
“And, of course, a special thank you to Sarah Pratt who allows us to set off from Ryston Hall every year, and the staff who work at the hall.”
Mr Shipp says he is already planning a Christmas Land Rover Run, where a 4x4 convoy will travel to Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital to deliver presents to patients sending the holidays in hospital.
