Fakenham theatre group FADLOS to perform Everybody’s Talking About Jamie next month

An amateur theatre group is set to tell a story of self-expression and acceptance with its next big musical.

Fakenham And District Light and Operatic Society (FADLOS) says that its latest show, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, promises to be heart-warming and high-energy, with cast and crew working hard to live up to its award-winning standards.

Based on true events, the performance is about Jamie New, a teenager with dreams of becoming a drag queen, navigating bullies and fears on his path to owning his identity.

It is showing at Fakenham Community Centre every night at 7.30pm from Tuesday, May 13 until Saturday, May 17.

Co-directors Ben Francis and Paula Graver said: “The world is a weird place right now, and sometimes you need something that has one sole purpose, and that is to make you smile.

“Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is that one thing, it’s about being you, the true you, and realising that everyone has a place and everyone deserves happiness and love.

“That is what everyone should take away from the show with a big smile on their face.”

The musical contains sensitive topics and strong language, so the group recommends it for those aged 14 and above. However, it has left it down to the audience to decide if it is suitable.

“The show is a celebration of individuality, acceptance, and the power in believing in yourself,” the pair added.

“Let’s all come together and experience this incredible story of Jamie and his unforgettable journey.”
