Downham Market celebrates horse fair with exhibition

An exhibition that will continue in to the spring is open to members of the public in the Discover Downham Heritage Centre, Downham Market.

St Winnold's Day, which remembers the town's historic horse fair, is being celebrated with the exhibition to mark this major event in the town's history.

Mrs Kathleen Wiseman, a trustee for the heritage centre who helps with the displays said: "The exhibition is ongoing and highlights a very important event in the town which has hosted one of the largest horse fair in Europe at its height."
