Facebook users weigh and measure Wetherspoon's chips in The Globe King's Lynn and The Whalebone in Downham Market on Wetherspoon's paltry chip count group
Wetherspoon chip fans have taken to an online group 'Wetherspoon Paltry Chip Count' to count the number of golden fries they get with their meals.
The chip count varies with some branches dishing out as little as seven or eight chips alongside burgers, yet others are far more generous with their portions.
The Globe in Lynn and The Whalebone in Downham fare pretty well with chip portions, with an average of 20-24 chips with a meal.
Posters have varied reactions, with one facebook user calling a portion of 19 "a disgrace" but another was quite pleased with 22.
Some go so far as to weight and measure the Wetherspoons chips by grams and even measure them.
One Whalebone chip was 10cm long, yet another was tiny coming in at 1.5cm.
A facebook poster said: "21 and two halves at the Globe in Lynn: a poor effort indeed."
Another member of the group commented: "Cheeky Spoons before Spider-man, 36 light and fluffy chips with a solid temperature too. 8/10 The Globe in Lynn."
A man posted a picture of his beyond burger saying: "The Whalebone Downham 24 chips with the beyond burger.Longest chip 10cm.Shortest chip 1.5cm."
