Downham Market man failed to show-up for drug-drive case





A Downham man accused of drug-driving could find himself convicted in his absence if he does not turn up to court.

Ashley Russell-Limb, 27, of James Scott Close, was due to attend Lynn magistrates’ court on Thursday to face a charge of driving his Honda moped on Lynn Road in Downham on February 15, while three times over the prescribed drug-drive limit.

He is said to have 7mg of cannabis per litre of blood in his system – the legal limit is 2mg.

However, Russell-Limb failed to appear in court this week so prosecutor Abdul Khan asked for the case to be adjourned so it could be proven in his absence at the next hearing.

Magistrates agreed and the case was adjourned to Lynn court on December 3. If the case is proven and he is not in court then a warrant will be issued for his arrest as the offence carries a mandatory disqualification.
