A major overhaul of gym equipment at Fakenham Sports and Fitness Centre has been hailed as ‘fantastic news’ by general manager Colin Brzeczek.
Places For People Leisure, formerly DC Leisure, is investing £110,000 in the project, which includes redecoration of the centre’s dance studio.
In an open letter to members, Mr Brzeczek regretted that the gym would have to be closed for a week for the work to be carried out but added: “We will be moving the free weights into the community room so they can be used during the refurbishment and also providing an extensive programme of classes to keep everyone fit and active.
“These will be for all members to attend and will cater for all levels of fitness.
“We feel sure you will agree that this is fantastic news and hope you are as excited as we are in looking forward to seeing the new gym.”
The gym will be closed from Monday, October 27, to Monday, November 4, but the sports hall will be available throughout with the studio in use until Wednesday, October 29. A detailed timetable of activities during the week is available from the centre.
