Parents of under 5s in Fakenham are being urged to take the first step in giving up cigarettes for good on No Smoking Day, which takes place tomorrow.
In the area of Fakenham Gateway SureStart Children’s Centre, 36 per cent of families with an under-five child contain an adult who smokes.
The centre will be providing tips, advice and moral support on No Smoking Day to help smoking parents make this the day they start to stop.
This year’s No Smoking Day theme is ‘Proud to be a Quitter’.
Vicky Horne, Stop Smoking Specialist at the centre, said: “We understand that many parents find the idea of giving up smoking daunting, even though they know it will benefit themselves and their children.
“No Smoking Day is the perfect opportunity to inspire parents in Fakenham and the surrounding areas to quit for good.”
