Talks will be held in Fakenham this week as part of a new effort to establish a permanent tourist information facility in the town.

Community groups have been invited to take part in a consultation meeting, which will take place at the Gallery Bistro, in Market Place, this Friday, May 6, at 7pm.

The meeting has been called by Active Fakenham after the group was asked if it wanted to run the town’s tourist information point.

Currently, the facility, which is managed by the Fakenham Area Partnership, operates on a seasonal basis within the town’s library.

However, the group says that alternative arrangements must now be found as the partnership can no longer run it.

They say they want to work with partner groups to establish a new hub next to Sweets’n’Things in the Market Place.

The meeting will also discuss preparations for the Get Active in Fakenham week, which is due to run from August 21 to 28.
