Families flocked to a special mosaic workshop to help decorate a model spitfire in Lynn on Saturday.
People, aged from 5 to 75, showed off their creative flair at the event in the Vancouver Quarter, including West Norfolk Mayor Colin Manning.
It was the first of three workshops being held in the shopping centre ahead of the launch of a trail of the famous planes, which will be on display throughout the town from next month.
Abbie Panks, centre manager, said: “This workshop proved popular and we’ve had some excellent feedback from parents who brought their children along.
“The event was a big hit across the generations from primary school pupils to pensioners and it was wonderful to see so many children having fun and getting involved, asking questions about planes and the Battle of Britain.”
