Wayne and Riley Peckham trial: Hilgay father and son found guilty of murdering Matthew Rodwell in Downham Market




A father and son have been found guilty of murder after a incident at a Downham property last year.

Wayne Peckham, 48, and Riley Peckham, 23, both of Manby Close, Hilgay, were on trial at Norwich Crown Court after pleading not guilty to the murder of Matthew Rodwell, 39, at an address in Bulrush Avenue, Downham, on January 23.

Mr Rodwell was in a relationship with Peckham Snr's former wife, Kerry Peckham, who was also the mother of Peckham Jnr.

The jury has been deliberating since Wednesday morning and delivered its verdict this afternoon that both Peckham Snr and Jnr were guilty of murder.

Jurors also found them both guilty of one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH) against another man which happened in December 2021 in Downham.

Peckham Snr was convicted of two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and but found not guilty of assault by beating.

He was also convicted of assault occasioning actual bodily harm against Mrs Peckham on January 23 last year.

Peckham Jnr was also convicted assault occasioning actual bodily harm in relation to the same December incident.

Peckham Snr and Jnr are due to be sentenced on Thursday, April 13 at Norwich Crown Court.
