Feel the beat at Fincham Zumba class
Joining a Zumba class may be a great way to start the new year and Russ Welch will be resuming his fitness classes in Fincham.
As an instructor he lets nothing get in his way and though he has inpaired hearing he inspires his Zumba class members to embrace the fun.
Russ said: “I am deaf in both ears and I wear hearing aids.
“I feel the bass vibrations from the floor so I can follow the beat.
“I do Zumba Fitness at Fincham Village Hall every Monday and Thursday night 6.30-7.30pm its absolutely great fun. “We have a fantastic Zumba family, very friendly and fun people.”
As a way of thanking his Zumba class he held a special festive class.
“As everyone went through a hard time last year because of Covid-19, I decided want to make Zumba a very special night to celebrate Christmas.
“Julie Taylor is great supporting my class, Anna Doggett made home-made delicious mince pies, sausage rolls and mulled wine I want to thank her for doing the amazing food. Everyone had a fantastic time.”
Russ is keen to spread the message that Zumba is a great way to get fitter whilst having fun.
He said: “It is great fun, builds your confidence and helps in making new friends.
“And mainly having fun.”
Russ has also celebratd a mile stone birthday with his Zumba friends pulling out all the stops.
He said: “We also celebrated my 40th birthday early in December, it was absolutely brilliant at Arbuckles in Downham Market.
“The staff are amazing and make you feel welcome, my Zumba family came and it was amazing night and I was very emotional as gave me money for my new tattoo .
“It will be of my cat Zumba who passed away last year and I struggled to cope.
“ I wanted a tattoo on my arm so she will be with me forever.
“Another gift from my amazing Zumba family was a helicopter experience what a lovely surprise.
“Thank you Julie for all your work organising this, you’re absolutely brilliant and thank to all my Zumba family for supporting me coming to my class.”
