Final heat for West Norfolk’s Battle of the Bands

This Sunday from 2pm at the Downham Market Club it’s the final heat of the 2015 Twisted Melon & KL.FM Battle Of The Bands Competition.

“It’s been a long journey but we’ve made it,” says Triston Finnis of Twisted Melon Promotions. “By the time we’ve completed this Sunday’s heat the judges will have seen 41 acts.

“Historically the last heat has always been very strong and this looks to be no exception.

Here’s a rundown of the acts battling it out in the last heat for the right to perform at this year’s 30th anniversary Festival Too.

Black Shuk

Four piece Indie Rock’n’Roll band from Norwich, inspired by the local music scene and the likes of Hendrix, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Kill It Kid. Had its debut gig in summer 2014 and since then has played venues such as The Arts Centre, Open, Waterfront main room and headlined The Waterfront Studio. Harry Buxton on lead guitar and vocals, Ciaran Skipper on bass and vocals, Aaron Browne on drums and vocals and Aaron Smith on rhythm guitar.

Kashmire

Kashmire is a Hard/Alternative Rock 4-piece from “the fine city” of Norwich.

Kashmire got together in 2014, and since then have been writing music together as well as learning a handful of covers to get them going. During 2015 the band have been regularly gigging around Norfolk. The band are Indie Fox vocals, Keiran Cook guitar, Freddy L’Crow bass and Dave Crabb drums.

Kingdom Keys

A group of talented musicians who have been at the forefront of the West Norfolk music scene for for the last five years have come together to form Kingdom Keys.

This exciting new band is a collaboration of current and ex members of well known successful local acts including Jessie’s Ghost, Whole Lotta Hair, Vex, Movements, Visions Birkenhed and Under the Influence.

Kingdom Keys have been put together by lead singer Sam Cook. He is joined by Boff Bareford on lead guitar, Danny De Ara Torres on guitar, Jay Harrion on Bass, Simon Benefer on Keyboard and Jake Graham on drums.

On listening to their epic sound influences can be heard from all the band members and their previous acts. The result is an incredibly original polished melodic alternative rock sound with fantastic vocals & harmonies.

Shock Hazard

Shock ! Hazard are the definition of Dirty Rock. Jake guitar/vocal, Dex on bass and Jay on drums mix Punk, Hard Rock and Glam Metal to create what is Shock ! Hazard. Take the in-your-face stage performance and mix it with Revolutional Lyrics; Shock ! Hazard are out to make their stand on the music industry and the World. Influences from AC/DC, Motley Crue, Sex Pistols, The Used.

After countless European tours they have been rising from strength to strength over the two years and have got them selves noticed by the BBC and Kerrang Magazine as well as attracting a following worldwide.
