More than 20 local charities are hoping to recruit new helpers at a pop-up volunteer event in Lynn next week.

The event is taking place at 27 New Conduit Street in Lynn’s Vancouver Quarter, next to Costa Coffee, between 10am and 4pm on Wednesday to coincide with Volunteers’ Week.

The session has been organised by by Voluntary Norfolk and members of Lynn’s Heritage Forum, including the Churches Conservation Trust, the town’s museums, Stories of Lynn and the library.

Michelle Turner, from Voluntary Norfolk, said: “We are so grateful to the Vancouver Quarter who have given us this opportunity to help charities and organisations advertise different volunteering opportunities.

“This is a great chance for anyone in West Norfolk who has ever thought about volunteering or just wants to know what’s available to take their chance and get some one-to-one advice.”

Vancouver Quarter manager Abbie Panks said: “We are really happy to offer this unit for the day to support local charities.”
