Morning river rescue in Gaywood

Emergency crews were called early this morning after a person was seen in a river in Gaywood.

Firefighters were sent to Swan Lane shortly after 7am today and spent around half an hour at the scene.

The Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service said town-based personnel had "assisted a person from the river".

Overnight, Massingham crews were called to tackle a vehicle fire in the nearby village of Rougham.

The incident was reported just before 2.40am this morning.

And crews based in Downham and Outwell freed people following a collision on Edge Bank, Emneth, which was reported at around 7.25pm last night.
