The opening date for a market town’s new discount store has been pushed back due to building work which is running behind schedule.

QD has revealed that doors to its new Fakenham location will now open a week later, on Tuesday, June 4.

The company has also announced that once it opens, the first 100 customers will receive a free goody bag.

Nisha Collins, QD’s marketing manager, said: “The new store is looking fantastic and we are very excited about coming to Fakenham.

“There are essential structural building works taking place at the store but, unfortunately, these are running slightly behind schedule.”

Creating 18 new jobs for the town, the store has moved into the former M&Co unit on Miller’s Walk.

Ms Collins added: “We are very sorry we’re not opening a bit earlier as planned, but we know it will be worth the wait and we’re looking forward to greeting all our new customers.”

Currently, the town’s closest QD shops are in Lynn, Hunstanton, Dereham and Norwich offering homewares, gardening, pets, furniture, groceries, cleaning supplies and more at discounted prices.
