One of the Bible’s most famous stories has been recreated in floral form to help raise funds for Swaffham’s parish church.

The tale of Noah’s Ark was the theme for the annual flower festival at the St Peter and St Paul church, which was held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The weekend raised more than £2,000 for church funds.

And the total included £225.50 collected during an evensong service where the dean of Norwich Cathedral, Dr Jane Hedges, preached.

Church warden Ralph Clarke said they had been particularly pleased with the size of the congregation at the service, which attracted around 100 people.

He said: “That was a very pleasing end to it. It was well received.

“All in all, it was quite a successful weekend.”
