Dersingham Methodist Church Flower Festival 'Miracles – God At Work' raises £1,860
Dersingham Methodist Church held their first Flower Festival which was in aid of church funds and raised a massive £1,860.
This was their first Flower Festival since the Covid-19 pandemic and the theme was Miracles – God At Work.
Entrants could choose from 13 different arrangements and organiser and church steward Elizabeth Batstone said: "However they interpreted it was up to them."
She was delighted with the figure raised, acknowledging that some people are still reluctant to attend busy events post-pandemic: "We didn't expect to raise this much; it was way above.
"We would have been delighted with just over £1,000. I think a lot of people are wary of going into a church with a lot of people.
"All the same, it was very good.
"We also raised £150 for the Methodist circuit in Zimbabwe which will go towards their projects which is probably something to do with water.
"Our minister (Rev. Richman Ncube) comes from Zimbabwe."
