Heartwood Primary School in Swaffham faces ‘setback’ as fly-tippers target site for fifth time

A primary school has called on fly-tippers to stop ditching their waste after a fifth incident this year.

Heartwood Primary School, in Swaffham, has fallen victim to illegal rubbish dumpers yet again.

Bin bags and broken furniture were left sitting in the staff car park this week, prompting plans to install cameras.

“The impact this has on our school is that it costs additional money to remove - money that the school has not budgeted for,” said site manager Nicola Weeks.

“The constant increase in costs of running a school is making our already tight budget a squeeze smaller.

“This then has the knock-on effect to supply any additional care to our students, such as school trips, after-school and morning clubs.”

Those with information are now being urged to get in contact with the school by emailing office@heartwood.norfolk.sch.uk or calling 01760 721357.

“We take pride in our school, as we continue to build relationships and be more involved with our community,” Ms Weeks added.

“This seems like a setback, and we do not want it to continue.”
