Campaigners bidding to develop a new village hall for their community have become a bit crafty to help raise funds for the cause.
Residents of Wereham are pictured above taking part in the village’s inaugural food and craft fair at the current hall.
A total of £550 was raised at the event, which was held as part of the ongoing effort to raise enough funds for a new building to replace the existing structure.
Earlier this year, a formal planning application was submitted to build a new hall on the current playing field.
Activities are limited in the current hall because of structural concerns.
If approved, the new building could accommodate 200 people along with a kitchen which is intended to cater for up to 120 meals.
Officials behind the village’s bid to secure Lottery funding for the scheme say the building would also accommodate a range of activities and community groups.
