Four arrested as police discover 'substantial' cannabis factory near Downham Market

Four people have been arrested following the discovery of what police say is a "substantial" cannabis growing operation in West Norfolk.

Officers have taken to social media this afternoon to share details of the haul discovered at a, so far, unspecified location near Downham.

The post, made on the King's Lynn Police Twitter feed a short time ago, said: "Substantial cannabis grow located near Downham Market. 10 poly tunnels filled with mature plants - 4 detained and in custody."

The discovery comes just days after another haul of the drug was found during a search operation in South Lynn.

Two men have been charged with drugs offences in relation to that incident, as part of a wider investigation being led by Derbyshire Police which will see nine defendants appear in court next month.
