Four in court over £170k machinery theft conspiracy claims

Four people accused of plotting to steal plant machinery worth £170,000 in Norfolk and Lincolnshire have appeared in court.

The offences are said to have involved several victims and taken place between November 9, 2018 and June 2, 2020.

Appearing at Lynn Magistrates’ Court on Thursday charged with conspiring to steal motor vehicles were Simon Bond, 40, of Church Drove, Outwell; Jamie Dews, of Station Road, Littleport, Ely; Jobie Webb, 52, and George Webb, 21, of the same address in March Riverside, Upwell.

The charge is indictable only so the case was sent to Norwich Crown Court for a pre-trial preparation hearing on March 24.

The defendants were granted unconditional bail until that date.
