Fourth day of school closures follows coldest night in a decade




Hundreds of children in West Norfolk and neighbouring districts are facing another day of school closures following a freezing night.

Many schools are re-opening this morning following the disruption caused by the freezing weather this week.

But 17 schools in our area are either fully or partially closed today, with officials in many areas reporting compacted snow and the very low temperatures are making it too dangerous to open.

Temperatures were expected to plunge as low as minus nine overnight, making it the coldest night for up to 10 years.

And, in some cases, it is the fourth successive day of closures.

The list of schools which are either fully are partially closed today is as follows:

• Ashwicken CE Primary School

• Burnham Market Primary School

• Colkirk Church of England Primary Academy

• Fakenham Infant & Nursery School

• Fakenham Junior School (partial closure)

• Great Dunham Primary School (partial closure)

• Hilgay Riverside Academy

• Ingoldisthorpe CE VA Primary School

• Litcham School

• Rudham Church Of England Primary Academy.

• Sacred Heart Catholic VA Primary School, Swaffham

• St. Martha's Catholic Primary School, Lynn

• The Fen Rivers Academy, Lynn

• Walsingham CE VA Primary School

• Weasenham Church of England Primary Academy

• West Raynham Church of England Primary Academy

• Wormegay Church of England Primary School
