Free community bleed control awareness training session being held at Hardwick Tesco in King’s Lynn
Mini First Aid Norfolk, in collaboration with Street First Aid, is offering a free bleeding control awareness training session for the community.
A session is being put on at the community rooms in Tesco on the Hardwick in Lynn on Tuesday, September 17 from 3.30pm-5pm and 6.30pm-8pm.
The session aims to equip ordinary people with the skills and confidence to manage life-threatening bleeding incidents, a crucial need given the rising concerns around knife crime in local areas.
Andy Davidson, owner of Mini First Aid Norfolk, and military veteran, has seen his fair share of life-threatening bleeding throughout his career.
Using his experience and first aid knowledge, he is now supporting ordinary people within the community in dealing with these sometimes life-threatening incidents by offering these succinct, interactive, and free sessions.
All sessions include hands-on training using the contents of publicly accessible bleed kits.
The training covers the proper application of tourniquets and chest seals, and the use of haemostatic – blood clotting dressings.
Improvisation techniques will also be demonstrated using everyday items like clothing to control bleeding. Each session lasts for about one and a half hours and is designed to be interactive and practical.
Each session is limited to 15 people and the free tickets are available through Eventbrite.
