Fun day in aid of brave Swaffham youngster
A ‘mega fun day’ will be held in support of a young child who was diagnosed with a brain tumour last year.
Swaffham Rugby Club will host the day for two-year-old Esmé Lambert on Sunday, August 18, from 11am to 9pm.
Esmé had numerous tests and scans followed by eight hours of surgery in November 2018, having been diagnosed with a brain tumour the previous month.
At the age of one, it was discovered Esmé had a malignant brain tumour called Ependymona.
The fun day will include stalls, car boots, children’s entertainment, live music, face painting, inflatables, classic cars and a fire engine.
There will also be reptiles and birds of prey on show.
A licensed bar will also be open with visitors asked to pay an entry fee in support of Esmé.
The day will cost £3 for adults and £2 per child. Under twos will get free admission.
Over £17,500 has been raised so far on Esmé’s fundraising page which can be found online at www.gofundme.com/help-little-esme
A target of £30,000 has been set for Esmé, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
Organiser Hils Genn said: “It’s been confirmed Esmé won’t be having treatment on the day of her fun day. So all being well we will have a very special appearance from the little legend.”
