Supporters of The Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House have reached their £10,000 target for the sanctuary room within the Hospice’s purpose-built facility in Hillington.

Val Blackmur, Elizabeth Osbourn and Eileen Jarvis set out on their fundraising exploits back in November 2013.

After organising several events in and around Flitcham and Hillington the ladies finally achieved their enormous target earlier this month.

With the help of their friends, they organised bingo evenings, two victorian christmas bazaars, a car boot and several smaller events.

Enough funds have now been raised for the Hospice to finish fitting out the Sanctuary, which will be used by patients, visitors, volunteers and staff, as place to go for peace and reflection.

The room will also greatly benefit the bereavement team as people can use the space as a place to remember their loved ones.

Mark Shea, commercial director at The Norfolk Hospice said: “I am inspired everyday by the commitment and determination of our supporters who challenge themselves to such a degree raising funds for us.

“Fundraising by people in the local community is crucial to the Hospice and we are sincerely grateful to Val, Elizabeth and Eileen.”
